The PennDOT currently offers two DMV title replacementmethods: by mail and in person at local branches. Regardless of the method that motorists choose to replace car title, they need to follow the same requirements for replacing a lost, stolen or damaged credential. To obtain a duplicate title via mail, drivers need to complete an application form and send it to the PennDOT mailing address along with an acceptable payment method for the applicable fees. Upon the submission ofthe application form and payment, motorists may be also required to submit additional documents, according to their specific situation. If vehicle owners want to perform a car title replacementprocedure after satisfying the conditions of a lien, they may be required to submit a lien release document obtained from the lienholder. Moreover, if motorists need a duplicate credential in order to title and register the vehicle in another state, they may have to submit a copy of their driver’s licenses and a document showing their out-of-state address.
